Our new members Rodervägen 4 (Jocke's old house) Russell Myles and Brenda Storey live in Blairgowrie in Scotland. Brenda is a freelance writer. Russell is a commercial helicopter pilot flying the Bölkow105 and EC135 for both the Police and Ambulance. He previously flew Boeing 757, 767 and Fokker F27 for the airlines after leaving the Royal Air Force. Something has changed in the airpark, something is different, something is missing. It took a couple of days to realize what we missed. The sound of trumpeting cranes at 2am!! One lonely crane occasionally walks the strip and the safety zones, but never more than one. In optimistic moments the guess is that one parents is taking care of the young one, cranes being very shy and their young ones vulnerable never leave them unguarded. Siljan AirPark summer, most beautiful and lush time of the year. And not far away, at least not for pilots, really . This season is the time of buzzing activity in Siljan AirPark. People are outdoors, and in the evenings the sound of model planes and the special barbecue aroma are characteristics of the atmosphere in this great airpark. Midsummer is behind us, and a long hopefully warm season is in front of us. This coming week-end the flying club is having its very first glide-in. Spring all over! It is very distracting. An eager little mr. Blue Tit has moved into the nesting box on our north wall. To attract a mate he is picking on the box sides from the inside, which resounds through the entire house. And he is no late sleeper! He wakes up with the hens and starts picking, offering room and board in new delicate surroundings with no cats in sight. Hope he soon finds his Queen of Hearts so your editor can go back to work again undisturbed. But it is also a sure sign of spring, so he is forgiven. Spring also means new website!! It is definitely spring! All the small signs around you tells you this is the time. And the calendar!! More daylight than night, it turned two days ago, marvelous! Not much longer willsnow, ice and cold winds prevent us from hauling out our flying machines, small or large, and let them soar against the blue sky in vain competition with our feathered friends.   Behind the horizon, out in the wilderness, well maybe not that dramatic an approach but tracks leading away always stirs the imagination and fantasy, and you find yourself dreaming about remote places and adventures.
